Question: Is XY<0?

For XY to be less than 0 you need one of two situations.

X > 0 and Y < 0 or X < 0 and Y > 0

Statement 1: X > 2

Y could be positive, 0 or negative.

Insufficient.

Statement 2: Y > -1

X and Y could both be either positive or negative.

Insufficient.

Statements combined:

We know that X > 0 but Y could be negative, 0 or positive.

Insufficient.

The correct answer is E.
