New Jersey's is one of the five highest number of reported cases of Lyme disease in the United States.

(A) New Jersey's is one of the five highest number of reported
(B) New Jersey's is one of the five highest numbers in reporting
(C) New Jersey has a report of one of the five highest numbers of
(D) New Jersey has one of the five highest numbers of reported
(E) New Jersey reports one of the five highest number of
In D don't you feel that "numbers of" is a wrong word to use. I read somewhere that the usage of "numbers of" is not correct in GMAT.......is this true
OA D.
From your query part, I assume that the answer is D.

Well numbers in this context is right. There are 5 numbers reported from probably 5 different state. New Jersey is one among these 5 numbers.

Anyway the other answers don't seem to work. I go with D.
Vineesh,

I would opt for D .

A and B are clearly out .

Left with B which talks about "report" , E says "highest number of". Overall meaning wise D seems best .
Thanks & Regards,
