hI,

I thought the answer is C) cause 64 could be X and meet the requirements - but the answer was E)... can anyone explain please??

(1) x is the square of an integer.
(2) x is the cube of an integer.

1 - insufficient. 2^2 = 4 and 3^2 = 9.

2 - insufficient. 2^3 = 8 and 3^3 = 27

1 and 2 together is insufficient as well. A simple test would be to
try 2^6 and 3^6

2^6 = (2^3)^2 or (2^2)^3 = even
3^6 = (3^3)^2 or (3^2)^3 = odd
