Is it just me or was the quant section of the diagnositics test in the OG 11th edition a little on the BRUTAL side. The questions in the diagnostics seemed harder than even the last 100 questions of the word problem section. Any thoughts from anyone?

Yeah, it's definitely brutal. There are a handful of questions in the diag, especially on PS, that are:

a) tougher than almost any other question in the book, and
b) not at all representative of common question types.

I tell my students not to bother with the diag at all until after they have done everything else in the book. Not a high priority. I think it's in there to scare you into buying the book if you're browsing in a store. (And I'll bet it works!)

agree 100%. My math is pretty decent and this shocked the hell out of me. Glad to hear as I thought it was probably me losing my touch.
