Powerprep test

I just took a Powerprep test with AWA. I was quite perplexed by the verbal score. I answered 29 questions correctly. But i only got a score of 27. Most number of questions wrong in a row is 4.

I'm aware that number of questions doesn't play a major role in scoring algorithm but i didn't expect this to be too disproportionate.

Did those 4 wrong questions in a row really affect my verbal score? Or is the scoring method in Powerprep different from what it is now?

Hi Pradeep,
from my experience, continuous wrong answers in a row affect the scores badly. It was also mentioned here in few threads(I can't find) by some gmat prep class experts.

What was your score though... Quant should be cakewalk I guess, based on your nice replies.
530->480->580
when posting a question don't post OA(even masked) before some discussion.

Quants was actually easier than GMATPrep. Got 49. I missed the wrong ones due to silly calculation errors. I should learn to cut these mistakes. I saw quite a few questions repeated from OG or some other official resource, although i didn't remember the answers.

For the sake of practicing under timed conditions, yes it is a good choice. After the test, i got a little demotivated by the verbal score. I'm just convincing myself now that score is not important for practicing.

I noticed the same thing on Powerprep test 1, which I took last month, was kind suprsied see my verbal as 22 and i had 11 incorrect and may be 3 or in a row. it is kind a weird, same pattern on MGMAT gives me 30 or 31?

Exactly. MGMAT seems to be little lenient in scoring. On the whole, i found Powerprep scoring very weird. Maybe some experts could step in and clarify.
