Unfortunately the AWA will compound a GMAT that is already at the low end of acceptability for your target schools. You don't say what your undergraduate field was or what school you attended, but certainly your outstanding GPA will provide some offset, particularly if it is in a challenging field or from a demanding school. Your interest in human resources will help as it takes you out of the mass of finance-wonks who will be applying. Also, successful military experience says leadership which can certainly help you case.

That doesn't say you will not get in, simply that your chances are lower than they would be if you had a strong GMAT to build on. If you can identify and eliminate a stumbling block that is lowering your GMAT it would certainly be worth retaking. A seasoned tutor can often put you on the right path to a significant score increase.

If you are determined to go to b-school next year, you should seriously consider adding a couple of less selective schools to your list.
