When to take gmat

Hi everyone,
I am working with an IT firm and I have a total of 3 yrs of experience. I am planning to take GMAT this yr in 2011 and wanted to knw the best tym of the yr when shud I tk gmAt so that I am elegible to apply in colleges for 2012 batch. I am also planniing to take CAT so shud I take GMAT b4 CAT or after that. Wud I b able to apply for 2012 batch if I take the test around november end.
If anyone cud tell me wen do the colleges lyk ISB start accepting GMAT results and hw much tym it takes for al da process.
Urgent reply needed.

The applications for Fall 2012 batch open in the next couple of months and round 1 applications are due in October/November and admissions will be over by December. So, after CAT will be too late. Now to October is the best time.

Remember that application process means the following: GMAT , Essays, Letters of recommendation, Interview, College transcripts etc will take a lot of time.
