yeah i don't think you can get a 2nd mba. question - what would be the reason for it anyway?

Here is the reason to do a 2nd MBA-
I did my MBA Finance immediately after my undergrad (0 work experience).Only during the course of the MBA did I realize the importance of having work experience. Then, I got hired based on my IT undergrad and have been working in IT for the past 8 years. I do not regret doing an MBA but definitely wish I did it at the right time and from the right school. I believe an MBA from the right school will help me get that break that I need to transition from an all IT job into Strategic and Global Management positions.

Anecdotally, the answer because your brand name will help me open doors is the wrong answer - even though most of the time thats the distinction between a 'top' IVY and every other school

I believe and hope never to regret the decision I made when I was 21 as an immigrant requiring sponsorship.
I have based my strategy for admission to an ivy league school knowing well that my chances as compared to others are the slimmest.
- existing US MBA
- over 8 years of experience in IT
- not the best undergrad or grad grades
- not the best schools or companies on my resume either
Here is my game plan-
1. Score well on my GMAT (plan to take it this Oct)
2. Work with a consultant on positively presenting all the above on my application.
3. Apply to the best schools for 2nd round deadlines for Fall 2012.
Success I believe in. I will post every step of my progress. I appreciate any suggestions and criticisim.
I have been putting it off for a while but Now i want to give it everything i've got. For all of you in a similar boat, never give up!

I recommend you read this case study of a candidate who pursued a 2nd MBA and was accepted into MIT Sloan. There are challenges you will need to overcome, but it is possible to be admitted.
