Let the average weight of cats = x
weight of cats = 5x
Dog's weight = 3 x average weight of cats = 3x
Total weight = 5x + 3x = 8x
What fraction is the dog's weight from total weight of all 6 animals?
$$=\frac{3x}{8x}=\frac{3}{8}$$

Answer = option C
