Solution: The resultant percentage will be the weighted average of the percentages of the above two stocks.

=> \(\frac{\left[2,000\cdot\frac{40}{100}\right]+\left[1,000\cdot\frac{50}{100}\right]}{2,000+1,000}\cdot100\)

=> \(\frac{800+500}{3,000}\cdot100\)

=> \(\frac{1,300}{3,000}\cdot100=43.33\%\)

Therefore, D is the correct answer.
