Uncomprehensible result with Powerprep

by TrueLie » Sat May 21, 2011 5:14 am
Hi all,

I started studying GMAT in March. In March 21st I took a CAT test with GMATPrep and got a score of 570 (Q44, V25). Today I took another CAT test with Powerprep and got a score of 560 (Q47, V20)!!! I can not understand what is going wrong with my Verbal. I answered correctly 25/41 Verbal and got a score of 20 :( It's even worse than my previous score 2 months ago with GMATPrep. As far as I know, GMATPrep and Powerprep are among the most accurate tests of GMAT.

Does it mean I have not had any progress in my Verbal Section???????

Thank you.

Hi TrueLie,

I'd be careful not to draw too many conclusions on the results of one test. Scores can fluctuate from test to test. A lot of the debriefs in the "I Just Beat the GMAT" forums include students' practice test scores, and there you will fluctuations greater than those you've experienced.

My advice is to stay confident and know that you are, indeed, progressing.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi,

Thank you very much for your invaluable advice.
I have just taken another CAT test with Manhattan and this time I got 700 (Q47, V39) :)
Maybe the last time I did not prepare well for the test.

Once again, thank you very much.
