Hey guys,
I think I did this one correctly but I am not sure at all. So I want to ask you to doublecheck:)
A carpenter constructed a rectangular sandbox with a capacity of 10 cubic feed. If the carpenter were to make a similar sandbox twice as long, twice as wide and twice as high as the first sandbox. What would be the capacity in cubic feet, of the second sandbox?
a) 20 b) 40 c)60 d)80 e) 100

I think its 100 but I am not that good with measures yet.

vol of cube : a*b*c = 10
new cuboid, 2a*2b*2c = 8abc = 8*10=80

Easiest approach is to plug in dimensions for the smaller sandbox.

Plug in L=1, W=1, H=10, so that V = L*W*H = 1*1*10 = 10.
New dimensions: L=2, W=2, H=20.
New volume = L*W*H = 2*2*20 = 80.

The correct answer is D.
