Hi there,

I am applying to the Queens MBA program and they require a GMAT score of 650+.
So i plan on taking the test in June 2011 and wanted to give myself enough study time for the test.

I had a couple questions:-

a) To get a score of 650+, how much study time do I have to invest in a week?
b) What are the best study strategies for the GMAT? I struggle in the verbal component more than the math component, whats the best technique to conquer that?

Individuals have different study needs and effectiveness. Some learn quickly, others do not. Some start with most of the information in place, others need to learn much of the content. On average, people who score 700 or above spend 120-140 hours studying.

The trick is to set a reasonable schedule, one that you can actually meet. If possible, sign up for a reputable class or work with a tutor. There are many affordable options including online.

Keeping an error log can be very helpful. Whenever you take a test go over ALL your answers, not just the ones that you missed. You need to understand what you are doing right as well as what you are doing wrong. Then go over your errors and analyze things that you are consistently doing incorrectly. That will show you where to focus your work.

Remember, you will never see one of your practice questions again. The task is to learn the approach and the concepts, not the problems.
