If x is a prime number, what is the value of x?

(i) x < 15

(ii) (x-2) is a multiple of 5


(i) is obviously not sufficient - it could be 2, 3, 5, ....

(ii) is not sufficient either - could be 17, 37, etc...

Together, though, it seems the answer is x = 7. Why is it that you need more information?

Individually, both the statements have been evaluated and are insufficient.

Ideally, in GMAT 0 is not considered a multiple. Despite this, even if we combine the statements, it would be insufficient to answer the question.

pankajks2010 ,When you combine both th statements, you cannot select x=12 because x must be a prime number (according to the question) and 12 is not!

But you are correct that 0 is a multiple of all numbers
