Division R of Company Q has 1,000 employees. What is the average (arithmetic mean) annual
salary of the employees at Company Q?
(1) The average annual salary of the employees in Division R is $30,000.
(2) The average annual salary of the employees at Company Q who are not in Division R is
$35,000.

For some reason, I'm not able to get an answer for this with the given data. Hence, I'm forced to chose the Option E. Without the total Number of employees in the other divisions, this may not be feasible to solve. Hey, but there may be other smart fellas around who can do better..Let me know what the OA is..

This is how far I progressed:
Let's say, N = Total # of employees in Company Q

Employees in Division R = 1000
Employees in Divisions other than R = N-1000

Setting up an equation for the mean salary throughout the company:
(30,000 x 1000) + (35,000 x (N-1000))/ N-1000+1000)

This is where I wasted a whole bunch of minutes and decided that the answer is probably not easy to arrive.
