Do Practice Tests Reflect REAL GMAT Questions??

Ive taken all 8 of my Kaplan online CATs. My lowest score was 640, and my range for the other 7 scores was 670 to 760. I also took the two free GMAT PREP tests and scored 670 & 690 on each. I noticed that the GMAT prep questions were a little different than the Kaplan questions. The writing style of each question was a bit different.


So this question is for all of you who have taken the GMATs and Kaplan courses. How accurately do the Kaplan questions, and GMAT Test Prep questions reflect the actual questions on the GMAT? I know that the concepts used will be similar, but are the math questions worded differently? I took my Ultimate Practice Test at Pearson and scored a 690. I want to schedule my actual test on Monday, and this is basically the final thing that I need feedback on. Thanks guys

You actual GMAT score should be between +/- 20/30 points of your GMAT Prep score. The assumption is that you are able to handle the test as efficiently as you handled the practice test (nerves are calm during test and you are not overly nervous or burnt out) and that your GMATPrep was taken in test conditions and for the first time.

Kaplan questions are on an average tougher than actual GMAT questions. GMATPrep questions are the closest approximation of the real GMAT Questions.

If your target score range is between 650-690 then IMO you can go ahead and schedule. Even 700 is achievable if you do really well on the test.
I will only advice you to take GMATPrep 1 and 2 again at least once before the test so that you get used to these kind of questions.
