A bowl contain almond only. after adding 100 grams of nuts, the alomnds become 75% Of the bowl content. How many nuts to be added to bowl so that almond become 25% of the bowl content

Let's assume that the bowl initially contained x grams of almonds. When a 100 grams of nuts were added into the bowl, there was a total of x+100 grams of nuts and almonds. The almonds represented 75% of what was in the bowl, so we can say that x/x+100=3/4. What we want to know is how many nuts can we add into the bowl so the percentage of almonds becomes 25% and the percentage of nuts becomes 75%. We can do this in the following manner:

100+y/100+x+y=3/4

y= the additional grams of nuts added into the bowl.

Cross-multiplying, we get:

400+4y=300+3x+3y

400+y=300+3x

We can find x by using the x/x+100=3/4 equation.

4x=3x+300

x=300

Substitute x into 400+y=300+3x

1200=400+y

y=800.

how many more nuts to be added or how many nuts to be added after adding 100 gm of nuts...

I am unable to decipher this question.. :shock:

if its the first case then 900 gm else 800 gms
