Dear Friends,

I was having problems in answering the following question.

Many financial experts believe that policy makers at the Federal Reserve, now
viewing the economy as balanced between moderate growth and low inflation, are

almost certain to leave interest rates unchanged for the foreseeable future.

A. Reserve, now viewing the economy as balanced between moderate growth and low
inflation, are
B. Reserve, now viewing the economy to be balanced between that of moderate growth
and low inflation and are
C. Reserve who, now viewing the economy as balanced between moderate growth and
low inflation, are
D. Reserve, who now view the economy to be balanced between that of moderate growth
and low inflation, will be
E. Reserve, which now views the economy to be balanced between moderate growth and
low inflation, is

Please help.

OA after some discussions.

My choice was option D
Regards
Deano.

We need parallelism btn 2 parts of BETWEEN X AND Y (between that of moderate growth and low inflation). Drop B/D
Drop E for IS
In C there is no main verb for the clause (policy makers at the Federal Reserve).

IMO A

View X as Y is the right idiom - OG 11 Q125, so drop B D E.
moreover the usage of between is right A C and E

Many financial experts believe that policy makers at the Federal Reserve who are
almost certain to leave interest rates unchanged for the foreseeable future. - This doesn't make sense. Verb is missing. So C is ruled out.

IMO A.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
