First thing 1 acre =43560
360*605/43560=5
5*30=150

Just a gut feeling about this...

While the scope of this word problem is not outside the world of GMAT questions, the actual calculations for solving it are pretty ugly, which makes me question whether this is an actual GMAC (or the former ETS) question.

I try to use as little long-division as possible, but found myself breaking down those awfully large values just to factor out and cancel integers in the numerator and denominator.

Blegh.

My concern is more about whether we need to remember all these conversion ratios such gallon to ounce, mile to feet etc

from what I've seen, the GMAT questons will provide you with all the needed conversion ratios, like in this problem.
(3,560 square feet = 1 acre)
I beat the GMAT! 760 (Q49/V44)

i believe you should know how to do conversion. although gmat doesn't expect you to remember the specific #'s such as 12 inches in 1 feet, you should be able to convert secs to hours with variables x and y...i had a similar question like that on the real gmat. or they might give you some ratio problem with variables and expect you to do the conversion

How can we find this from 3,560 square feet = 1 acre
First thing 1 acre =43560

The only ones you need to know are conversions of units of time: 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, etc. Any others will be provided.

It is just a typo in the original question. An acre is 43,560 square feet, not 3,560 square feet, so the original post contained an error.

I KNOW!!! This is such a straight calculation problem. But the question contained errors which was really cracking me out!!! Bummer!
