Try to prove that statements I, II and III CAN BE TRUE by plugging in DIFFERENT types of numbers:
integers, fractions, negative numbers, etc.
Consider NONNEGATIVE INTEGERS:
x=2, y=1, z=0.
Since x=2, y²=1 and z�=0, x > y² > z�.
In this case, x>y>z.
Eliminate D, which does not include statement I.
Consider FRACTIONS:
x=1/5, y=1/3, z=1/2.
Since x=1/5, y²=1/9, and z�=1/16, x > y² > z�.
In this case, z>y>x.
Eliminate A and C, which do not include statement II.
Consider NEGATIVE numbers:
x=10, y=-2, z=-1.
Since x=10, y²=4, and z�=1, x > y² > z�.
In this case, x>z>y.
Eliminate B, which does not include statement III.
The correct answer is
E.
