We know that ABC is right triangle because any triangle formed in a semi circle with its vertices toughing the circle is right triangle 90-60-30

30 = 1
60 = sqrt3
90 = 2

Area of triangle ABC = 1/2 * 1* sqrt3 = sqrt3/2
