It should be 0 i.e A

n/2 is even i.e divisible by 2, it has 2 as one of its factors

n = n/2 * 2 i.e n/2 has a factor 2 & when we multiply n/2 *2 then the resultant nos i.e n will have 2*2 as its factor, so it is divisible by 4

Yes. It should be zero.

It states that n/2 is even, which means that (n/2) / 2 has a remainder zero (by definition of an even number). And since (n/2) / 2 = n/4, n/4 will also have a remainder zero.

I think the answer is 0

It says n/2 is even number
=> the result is again divisible by 2
=> n is two times divisible by 2
=> n is divisible by 2X2
=> n is divisible by 4
=> remainder is 0

If n/2 is an even integer what is the remainder when n is divided by 4?

A. 0
B. 1
C. 2
D. 3
E. 4

Say x=n/2, and n/2 is an even integer means x is even ie x should be divisible by 2, which inturn means n is divisible by 4.

B.NOT POSSIBLE. Because n/2 is even n is certainly even.
C.NOT POSSIBLE, as n contains 2 2's as factors
D.NOT POSSIBLE. Because n/2 is even n is certainly even.
E.NOT POSSIBLE. you know why.

thanks guys for the reply but what if n=8 or 16 etc. so it would be 8/2=4 or 16/2 = 8 they are both even integers and divisible by 4

I think you have the concept of remainder wrong. if n=8 then n divided by 4 gives a remainder of 0, similarly wjen n = 16, n divided by 4 gives remainder 0, however the quotients are non-zero
