Is line 1 parallel to the y-axis ?

1)The equation of line 1 is X= 4

2) the points (4,2) and (4,-5)are on the line 1.

EDIT: Yes, it is parallel.

Pharo nailed it. We know the y-axis is represented by x=0, so for a line to be parallel, it must also have a constant x value. S1 directly tells us that, so it is sufficient. S2 tells us that each point on the line has an x-value of 4, so the equation of the line must be x=4 (as in S1). Thus, we go with D.
