If m=9^(x−1), then in terms of m, 3^(4x−2) must be which of the following?

A. m/3
B. 9m
C. 9m^2
D. m^2/3
E. m^2/9

OA is C

Please explain.

Hi Vinni,
Just take some simple value and solve it.

Example Let X =2
m=9^(x−1) => 9^1 => m=9

apply the same to
3^(4x−2) => 3^6 =9*9*9

Now check with the options,
only option that match is C

m = 9^(x-1) = 9^x/9

3^(4x-2) = 9^x*9^x/9 = m * 9^x ==> m * 9 * m = 9 * m^2
