In option C and D 'that' incorrectly modifies atmosphere implying that it is atmosphere that affects global climate.

E has poor construction and B changes the meaning slightly.

Since all answer choices have "atmosphere" at the beginning we could immediately look at what comes after that.

When you look at the last section of the underlined part, "interactions that affect the global climate", we have the relative clause "that affect global climate". Since that is the subject of this clause it must remain. moreover when you look at the verb "affect" and ask the question, who or what affect? you get the answer, interactions. This is in its correct verb tense.

Therefore all of the words interaction, that, and affect, are all grammatically correct.
