Hi all,

I had applied for MBA programmes at the below listed schools
for Spring 2012. Though they are not teir 1 schools, I would like to understand the job prospectus post MBA at us schools.

Illinois State University - College of Business - MBA
University of Houston - Clear Lake - School of Business - MBA
Eastern Kentucky University - College of Business - MBA
University of North Texas - Graduate School - MBA
Texas A & M University - Commerce - MBA

Please advice which would be a better choice and why keeping in view of job prospects post-MBA?

Regards
Ven

Thanks for the response.

1) Your career goal: I have extensive consulting experience in IT and would like to move into management roles/positions. I believe MBA helps to acquire necessary skills to take-up challenging roles and provides better career prospects. I have plans of starting my own consulting firm in the long run.

2) GMAT if taken: 530

3) Work Experience: 6+ years of professional consulting experience in IT.

4)Extra curriculars: university topper while undergraduate and postgraduate studies (civil engineering). Have research publications in national and international journals. Executed projects as project leader in multiple domains across the globe.

Please advice

Do you plan for a retest for a better GMAT score.

The reason to ask this is that if you can make it reach 620-650, which seems possible looking at your other profile features, a new ambit of colleges would open gates.

However one of the best ways would be to keep GMAT out of picture. I mean to look for good colleges which dont give so much importance to GMAT score or have lower limits of GMAT as 500. Ex RSM, MBS , NUS...

IMHO, however, if you are setting your sights on a B-school outside of the top 30 or so (though some would argue to extend this limit). Even with european schools you will find it difficult to defend.

Hope
The average GMAT score is 544, according to the GMAC. But applicants with scores near or below the average get admitted (not frequently, but fairly regularly) to top-ranked schools including Harvard Business School and the Wharton School.

Harvard's lowest accepted GMAT score for the class of 2013 was a 490
