Suggestion for School

Hi

I have a gmat score of 710 (49, 40) GPA 3.2 in Mechanical Engineering from a non IIT Indian college. I have work ex of 7.5 years in Indian automotive industries (Ashok Leyland + Daimler) in Marketing After Sales division. I want to make a career in core marketing and want a short term career as a product marketing manager in this industry. I am looking for a 1 yr MBA program. Can u suggest me some school where job opportunities in Automotive field is ample and I can secure a job after post MBA.

Hi,

You have a decent profile and good GMAT score. With 7+ yrs. of work experience, you are in a perfect stage of your career which most of the b-schools look for. You can target b-schools with 1 yr. program like: INSEAD, HEC-Paris, IMD, ESADE, IE-Spain, Cambridge, Oxford, Queen's and Ontario-Ivey. These are few good schools in Europe, UK & Canada. Subsequently, you need to work hard on your application essays and showcase headship qualities & professional achievements during final interviews. These are the deciding factors in admission to b-schools.

In order to make a career in marketing...you should apply to Kellogg (you'll need to score over 700+). It has one of the best marketing programs for MBAs and also offers 15 month program for candidates like you.

Job opportunities in automotive...are back in Michigan and thriving (Btw - Detroit is 3 hrs drive away from Chicago) - The three big GM, Chrysler, Ford that faced the prospects of liquidation are all back in business. GM took over Toyota...automotive industry is expanding. That is good news for you!
