Few question regarding B-Schools

by zerotoinfinite2006 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 10:33 am
Hi,

I just heard the presentation of Graham Richmond at GMATCH and I am really glad to receive such a meaning full information about application processing and B-Schools.

About me: I have an experience of 2 years in a multinational company as a Software Engineer. I rate myself 8/10 in my technical field and due to that I got several recommendation. I am 24 now. I planning to go to GMAT school on 2011.

My Question:

1: Is 2 years experience is sufficient to apply to B-Schools? As I have an experience in technical field, which domain will help me to grow my carrier more efficiently?

2: How much GMAT score is required to make myself sufficient to apply for almost any B-school?

3: How do I get the list of B-Schools which has internship program?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. I'm glad you found Graham's presentation helpful! Please see my comments below:

1: Is 2 years experience is sufficient to apply to B-Schools? As I have an experience in technical field, which domain will help me to grow my carrier more efficiently?

Yes, two years is sufficient to apply to business school. Most applicants to US business schools have between 2-5 years experience on average. Remember, it's not necessarily how much experience you have, but how you position yourself in your application. It's essential that you have clear goals and are able to articulate just why you need an MBA to achieve your goals.

2: How much GMAT score is required to make myself sufficient to apply for almost any B-school?

Bschool admission is quite competitive these days due in part to high application volume. Given your experience and education, you will want to score a minimum of 700, but the higher the score the better.

3: How do I get the list of B-Schools which has internship program?

Most US full time programs have internships opportunities. You'll want to decide your industry of interest and look for programs that offer employment opportunities in that area.

Best,

Stacey
