Should I reapply?

Dear Stacy,

I was a 2+2 program finalist, but then got rejected.
Do you think I should re-apply again as a senior in Round 3? (I can gain some more experience before applying, that's why I am thinking of Round 3)

Also, in my app in 2+2, I stated that I am very determined in going for Industry A. But if I apply again, do you think it's a good idea to say that I wanna go for Industry B instead?
(the fact is I am interested in both Industry A and B...I just chose A when I applied, but now I realize B may be better for my app)
Or do you think I should still stick to Industry A to make it more consistent?

Dear juyau800,

First, you need to confirm that you are still eligible to apply for the 2+2 program as there is a specific window in which you are eligible to apply. Second, if you do decide to re-apply to HBS, then it is always best to contact the admissions office for feedback on your application so you know what you should address in your next application. Likewise, you can also confirm what you do and do not need to submit with a re-application. If HBS will not provide feedback, then you will want to look at your profile and try to determine if you had any weakness(es) that you can address (e.g., retake the GMAT to raise your score).

Whether or not you change your desired post-MBA industry is up to you. I doubt that is the reason you were ultimately rejected. If you stick with Industry A, then you might want to spend more time in the application explaining your choice and your plan to get there. If you change to Industry B, then you will need to explain why you made the change and your plan to get to Industry B.
