Profile Evaluation

GMAT -650(Q44 V36)
GPA - 2.9
University of California, San Diego, Political Science Major, History Minor

Work Experience- 4 years if entering September 2012.
1.5 years of Inside sales of Fitness Equipment out of college.
2.5 years Business side of healthcare industry, want to continue with this

Hi,

Thanks for your post. If I am interpreting your information correctly, you are asking if your profile is a fit for USC's part time program. If this is indeed the case, let me give you my thoughts. Your diverse work experience could serve you well, but you'll have to clearly explain the switch between your roles and how this has put you on a path toward your MBA and achieving your short and long term post MBA goals. Be sure to connect the dots since it's not all clear given the information you've shared.

My main concern is around your academics. A GPA below 3.0 can raise a red flag with the adcom. You'll want to provide an explanation (if you have one) for your low GPA. Your GMAT score is also part of your academic profile, and it might be best if you consider retaking it. A higher score can help mitigate concerns the adcom may have about your academic ability resulting from your low GPA.
