Hi,

This is Vikas kapoor. I am working as a Group Manager in an Analytics company with focus on Credit Risk Reporting and analytics .

I have around 8 years experience mainly in Data Warehousing development(not a typical IT profile) area within last 2.5-3 years on Techno-functional role on Credit Risk Reporting and analysis.

I have keen interest in Credit Risk Management and use of Business Intelligence in Credit Risk.

I have not yet decided on the timing of taking GMAT .
My main reason to do an MBA is to switch to more Business focus role(mainly in Business analytics or Risk Management) in my Career from current technical role.

I would like to know good B-schools with programs focused on Risk Management or Business analytics.

I have low GPA in my graduation but have worked in good companies in my career(if that helps).

Profile:

Wharton, NYU Stern and McCombs have excellent Risk Management concentrations/specializations but I do not think you are competitive for these programs. You need to do a bottom-up analysis of MBA programs with Risk Management specializations and Masters of Science in Risk Management programs, especially look at post-graduation employment for an international student. Some schools to start with are Temple (https://www.fox.temple.edu/cms_academics ... insurance/), Wisconsin (https://bus.wisc.edu/mba/risk-management-insurance) and Terry (https://mba.terry.uga.edu/fulltime/conce ... management).

Good luck,
