Dear Stacy/Lisa,

Thanks for all your time and wonderful feedback - it is very much appreciated!

I had a quick question regarding GMAT scores - do schools usually average your top scores or just take your best quant/verbal score? I'm having a tough time studying for both at the same time and was wondering if it might be better for me to take it twice and focus on one subject each time I take the test. This would not be of much help if the admissions committee simply averages the total scores.

Any insight and/or suggestions would be very much appreicated!

Dear ykouchouk:

Schools only use the GMAT exam with the best total score. So there is never an average of two tests or three tests, nor do they take the best verbal score from one and best quant score from another. You must do the best you can on all sections to aim for the highest possible score.

Tuck will take your highest Verbal and Quant. scores. I am certain that what Lisa applies everywhere else.

Magnia is right, Tuck does individually pluck the best verbal,quant scores but almost certainly this is not a worthwhile strategy since this is the only school I know of that breaks them up this way.
