Profile Evaluation/Improvement Suggestions

by OGP » Fri May 06, 2011 5:46 pm
Hello Experts,

My profile till May 6, 2011:

Undergrad: B.E. Chemical Engineering, GPA: 6.7/10, Completed: June 2010 from India.
July 2010 - Present(10 Months): Working as Industrial Engineer at Michelin North America Inc. in SC.
At College: Sportsman,Worked for a startup in Microfinance,President of a Cultural Society.
Currently, a Certified Personal Trainer from American Council on Exercise. Runs own startup website about fitness consulting.
Planned Admission: Fall 2013
Planned GMAT: March 2012

I am aiming top 10 B-Schools and a GMAT of 750 to compensate for my low undergrad GPA. I'll be greatly thankful if you could give some of your suggestions/comments about what all things I should work more on (like some community service work, participation in fitness conferences/events etc.) in these 15 months before I apply so as to crack those top 10.
Please feel free to ask for more info if required. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. It's great that your thinking about your profile now - so early in the process.

The are three areas I suggest working on over the next 15 months:

1. Study for the GMAT and get that 750!
2. Continue to find ways to stretch yourself outside of the office. I suggest finding ways to reach the community through fitness or nutrition. This could be the best way to gain significant leadership experience.
3. Continue to seek out new projects at work and try to find different roles to play. This is a great way to expand your learning as well as teamwork experience.

Regards,

Stacey
