madhurinarayan,

GPA is only one factor in acceptance to selective programs like Harvard and ISB. Even for applicants still in school like yourself, evidence of leadership is critical. While your creative pursuits may help you stand out, you will also need to demonstrate leadership potential.

Good luck,

thanks a lot paulsbodine : )

ur reply was of great help and was encouraging : )....if i could buy a little more time of urs...i had a few more doubts.

1. assuming that i have leadership skills(i have organized and have leaded many programmes in my school and college, like events related to our ieee student branch ,conducting symposiums ,and am the student relation coordinator of my department)..does a gpa of 8.1 sound decent ??
2.will my senior secondary school marks(78 % only ) play a role in my admissions ?because that one is a significant drop in my academic graph.

thanks :)

Madhuri,

For HBS you would need the equivalent CGPA of about 3.6 (on a scale of 4.0). Your secondary school GPA will not be relevant to your U.S. applications.

hey

one more question....do the number of backlogs in engineering matter if i want to aim for top schools like H ?..for example....
i had an arrear /backlog in electronic circuits(i am doing my engineering in ECE)..which i cleared this semester...will that matter in my selection ?...i have a cgpa of 8.5 on ten otherwise.

thanks!
