10 days before HBS deadline

by MK2007 » Fri Dec 21, 2007 9:24 pm
I m wondering if there is any chance I could apply on time for HBS.
I just passed the GMAT this week and have not prepared anything for the application. HBS deadline is Jan 3rd.
Do I have enough time to write proper essays and update my resume or should I just wait for next year or apply to another university?
I m willing to get help from consultants if they think it's feasible to put a strong application together in such a short time.

Thanks for your input!
M.

jelt,
thanks! I appreciate your answer.
I guess I will have to wait another year before to start the mba.

Sure. You could also try R3 and see if you can get a feedback report if you get dinged, though. No harm, especially if doing it this year makes a lot of sense for you.

MK,

Look at the essay topics. If you feel u are mentally there to answer them / or know how to answer them , Go for it. There is no perfect essay . Many applicants take longer as they have to search hard for material to make the application strong .

If you convinced the school is rite for you and this is the rite time to apply , the essay will just fall in place.

Good luck .

Cheers,
DUD.

Hi MK,

I think it would be difficult to get everything together in the next few days. More than the essays, recommender's letters are your biggest hurdle in a time crunch.

I wouldn't advise applying in R3 to HBS hoping for feedback, HBS does not provide it. Kellogg and Wharton do, but both schools often have overwhelming requests and the slots for feedback fill up quickly.

You may want to contact Stacy - visit stacyblackman.com for contact information - to set up a consultation for more detail on your strategy.

Good luck!
