I am curious what my chances are of getting into either Texas or Duke.
-Graduated from McCombs-Texas with a Finance degree in 2006 (im 26);GPA was 3.6
-Worked for one year at JPMorgan and then left to go to a boutique sell-side investment bank;
-Started as an analyst and promoted to associate after a year and a half
-the firm also had multiple rounds of layoffs
-extracurricular activities are strong (president of fraternity in college, currently serve as an advisor to a local chapter and a few others)
-looking to go back to school to move into venture capital; something that sparked my interest since we're doing more growth equity transaction these days and i want an mba before i can make the move into VC.
-Kicker - ive taken the gmat twice. 580 and 590. im not a good test taker, bottom line.
*what are my chances getting into duke/texas? what schools should i be targeting with these credentials
