Hi Stacy/Amy,

Here is my profile.

GMAT 640
Work Exp: 3+ yrs. Working as a programmer analyst in a reputed firm.

Undergraduation: Bachelors of Pharmacy(Hons.) from one of the India's top colleges.Overall 7.2 CGPA on a scale of 10.

Overall first in my school and received an award for securing rank among the first 10 in my state.

Extracurricular: I take personality development sessions and work for upliftment of children and youth. I am an editor of a newsletter which aims at overall development of children through yoga and meditation. I am also an active memeber of Corporate social responsibility team in my company.

Could you kindly evaluate my profile. I am planning to apply for next fall to schools in US, UK and singapore.I am mainly looking out for schools which can offer me scholarships/ aids.

Would taking GMAT again in October this year help me catch up with the application deadlines?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Sheelu

Dear Sheelu,

For the best chance at a scholarship award, you might want to retake your GMAT and increase your score at least 30 points. Scholarship awards are more competitive than admission, so any improvements you can make to your profile will be beneficial. Also, scholarship awards are more prevalent in schools outside the top 20. So in identifying potential schools, you might want to consider more second and third tier schools where your GMAT, GPA, and work experience are close to/above the average for the school. Based on the limited information in your post, you appear to have some interesting extracurricular activities and did well in college, so those items will work to your advantage.

Good luck,
Lisa
