690 + 2.3 yr work ex profile evaluation

Academics
- GMAT: 690(49Q, 33V) AWA 5.0
- Xth : 89.4%
- XIIth :91.5%
- BE (Electronics and communication) from Anna university 77 % First class with distinction.

Work
- 2.3 years of work experience in IT industry and by the time I join in Fall 2010 would have 3 years work experience.
- Managed a team of five members with project related issues.
- Have helped in delivery and process audits in the project.

Activities

- Helped in the event management of college symposium.
- Organised many educational trips in college.
- Won numerous accolades in the school level.

Goals:

- Short term: change my career into the management field , since i dont have work experience in management
- Long term: top management role in a big company

I am not expecting to get into the top twenty b schools. My aim is to get into the schools ranked from 20 - 40 .
I also need financial aid for my MBA program. So can u suggest me schools which would satisfy my requirements.

I have the following schools in mind,

Arizona state university (Carey)
University of Texas, Dallas
NUS
Nanyang

Hi and thanks for your note. I think you should be a very good candidate at the schools that you mention and that there is better than average chance to get some "free money" in the form of fellowships, etc.

My chief concern with your plan is that, for students going to the type of program that you mention, your MBA will not come from a particularly prestigious institution. Now, this is fine as long as you are not planning to work for the type of company that only hires from Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford, but you should be aware that your employment options will probably be fairly local and not as high-paid as alums from more prestigious schools.

Its up to you to choose between those trade-offs.
