Hi,
I am looking to apply to NYU Stern part-time and perhaps a few others. In terms of recommendations, does it look better to have a higher-up reommend you or someone that has known you longer or knows you better in general.
My situation. I have been at my current firm a little less than a year. For NYU, I will be using my immediate supervisor as it is required. I then can also attain a recommendation from the President of the firm if that would help. Would it matter?
In terms of my old job, I can get a recommendation from the CFO who has known me since I started there (pretty closely). Or I can get a recommendation from my immediate supervisor of 3 years and my internship at my old firm -- he is currently a VP at another firm. I still keep in touch with him -- mentor type of figure.
Thanks!
