Hi
I am 28 yo, from Israel.
I am not sure I know how to translate my GPA. My average score is 83, majored in phsycology and business. I think I am ranked somewhere in the top 20%, but I am not really sure.
My gmat score is a well balanced 730 (Q49, V41, AWA 5.5).
I am an American citizen.
Extra curricular activities, include writing for the world largest international basketball site (eurobasket.com) for a year, and managing and editing a large Israeli site about television. I don't do those things anymore.
I can also mention helping out with some eldery men for some time.
My work experience starts in the army, where I was in charge of religion services in several big army bases for less than a year, I served under an officer as I am not one myself.
I managed a large staff (around 70 people), in the Israeli court system, for just under a year.
now I am handling a few projects for a small company, and have been doing so for the last 6 months. The main project I am working on involves at it's optimum goal, working with partially blind people in order to assist the partially deaf, on a national scale, which seems to be a noble cause.
Is my work experience sufficient? seems to me it might not be enough for a top school.
I believe I am capable of writing a decent essay, however recommendations may prove to be a problem. I might be able to get one from a judge I worked with, I am not sure about the other one, and having my boss giving me one is questionable. That is - he might write one, but I really don't think he has the time, motive or character to write a good one.
I would like to apply for Sep 2009, and the schools I have in mind are Ross, Tuck, NYU, Duke and UCLA. Have I got a shot a those? Have I got a shot at higher ranked schools, such as Kellog or Columbia, or do I have to settle for lower ranked schools such as Usc and Tepper or even lower than that. What if I do manage to get a couple of good recommendations?
Thank you very much.
