Dear Bhushan,

I would suggest taking the GMAT between now and the end of August. That will give you time to retake the test if you need to prior to second round deadlines as you will want to apply by the second round as an international student.

Good luck,

Lisa,

Does it matter when scores are sent to the schools in which I am interested? I'm taking the test this Saturday, and want to take advantage of the free score reports. However, I won't be submitting any applications for months, and I'm wondering if schools prefer to receive GMAT scores at the same time (or at least near the same time) that the rest of the application materials are received.

Thanks for your help!

Dear Chris,

It does not matter when the score reports are sent. If you know where you plan to apply, then you should enter those schools at your exam. Schools receive GMAT score reports on a daily basis and simply file them away until an application arrives that matches. Since your score is good for 5 years, schools keep the score reports for that time in the event the person decides to apply.

Good luck on your GMAT!
