Hi MBA app experts,
I would like to get some insights into my chances of getting into b-school. I hope you can provide a profile evaluation for me.
Background Info:
Originally born and raised in Latin American country recently became a US resident
Age: 30
Female
Project manager in software industry
Education:
BS in Engineering from Miami University - Graduate with honors with distinction, fulbright scholar from my country
Master in ME from Purdue University - Research Assistant
GPA undergrad 3.7
GPA grad 3.3
Work Experience:
5 years work experience in same company
Started in rotational program, worked in quality group, customer support, field work implementation, and advanced to project management 2 years ago
Currently work in software implementation projects for customers in Latin America. Because of a need to take over an account in Brazil, I learned Portuguese 2 years ago and now manage that account.
Extracurricular activities:
director of a non-profit in the bay
toastmasters
event manager for a non-profit in the bay (get assigned events to manage)
Society of Women Engineers chapter professional development coordinator for 2011, and board member for 2012
Society of hispanic engineers prof. dev. coordinator for 2012
Languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French (intermediate)
GMAT: 640
Target Schools:
Berkeley EWMBA
Stanford
Wharton lauder for Portuguese
UCLA FEMBA
I am undecided about going full or part time at this point. The reason is that I am 30 years old so not sure if that is high of an age to go full time for an mba.
I want to pursue business strategy after the mba.
Any help would be appreciated thanks!
