Should I go For an MBA

Hi,

I am a college fresher with a B.Tech in Computer Science from India. I am currently employed for the past 6 months in a company in the VoIP section.

I am interested in going for MBA but I am not sure if its right for me... I have been doing online business for around 2-3 years and making some money...

Many say that VoIP is an emerging field and so I shoudl not leave it. Shoudl I leave it for MBA or should I not??? My main aim is to land a job that pays good money.

I am interested in both MBA and Tech jobs... Can you please advice? Also if I take MBA should I go for MBA finance or marketing or operations?

At this point in time, the answer sounds like a no. Getting a MBA is a serious investment in time and money for those who are certain they need it to take the next step in their careers.

For you right now where you are in your career, it sounds like you're just fishing.

The best way to get a job that is financially rewarding, is to do something you're passionate about.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply... Why I wanted to make a decision now is because many people told me that since now I am 22 years old, its better to take risks now than later.. So is it a NO for MBA?

Take risks probably means starting a business as opposed to getting a MBA. Getting a MBA is a risk averse move.

But truth be told, the fact that you're on here asking the type of questions you are asking suggests you aren't a self starter and would not make a good entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs just do, they dont ask.

I think for now, just keep doing what you're doing but really well. You're still young. Get experience - do many things, talk to many people. Basically work your arse off. Decide at 25 if you want a MBA or something else.
