690 - Is this a fighting score?

by yenter » Tue Dec 01, 2009 8:49 am
Greetings,
Looking for your insight here. I got a 690 (Q42, V42). Will this score be sufficient for admission into - Georgetown, Emory, Cambridge (Judge), CMU (Tepper), UT Austin, Cornell, Duke. By way of background, I have 8 years of experience in Technology (Product Manager) with fairly average EC's and started my own media venture that is currently on the search for angel investors. Concerned that my pool (Indian) is oversubscribed among aspirants.

Dear yenter,

The Indian IT pool is oversubscribed at these schools. However, your media venture could be your differentiator from this pool. Your 690 is competitive for your target list of schools, but it is not above average relative to the Indian IT pool. If you feel you can distinguish yourself enough with your essays, recommendations and resume, then you certainly have a shot at any of these schools.

Good luck,
Lisa
