Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.

Let's start of with facts about me:
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Race: 50/50 Japanese and Italian. 3rd or 4th Gen American.

-Current School: Small Private engineering school that Harvard seems to be consistently interested in.
-Major: Mechanical Engineering with an automotive specialty (3 500 level graduate courses in this field thus far)
-Current GPA: 3.76
-GMAT: 710 - 47 Quant 41 Verbal
-Internship: Working as an engineering intern since Jan 2009. Work is 6 months out of the year and school is the other 6 months.

Involvement:

-President of Fraternity of which I have a very good letter of recommendation on my contributions (former scholarship chair)
-President of American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) (Former Treasurer)
-Multiple Honors Societys

Motivations:

My motivation for getting an MBA from HBS is that I want to make an impact on the automotive world. Going the business route is the way to go to make it far in the automotive corporate world and that is where I believe I can make the largest impact.

I am worried that my entire resume is too "average". I have slightly below average gmat and GPA and it worries me. I plan on applying in the Summer round of this year. I'm thinking about retaking the GMAT. Is there anything else I can do to better my chances at this point?

Hey,
Are you applying then to HBS 2+2?
Overall your GPA and GMAT is solid. If HBS is often interested in your school, there there's no reason why they should stop being so.
As for anything else you can do: Another thing HBS looks at a lot is your leadership, involvement and initiative throughout your school years, sooo being involved is important and being DEEPLY involved (Say president of the GO) is exactly who they are looking for, so you need to take advantage of whatever you have, and add whatever else you can to your profile at this point (a bit late, but better late than never)

I don't really have time to get involved with anything else because I am applying for the Summer round. I'm hoping my involvement in my Fraternity and the Mechanical Engineering club will be enough (more depth than breadth).. I guess we'll see. I'm really going to try to convey the fact that I am enthusiastic about the auto industry (working as intern for General Motors since Freshman year) and therefore want to make a significant, positive impact on it.
