Hello,

I wanted to get some information regarding the chances of getting in Full time MBA in Information systems.

Background: Indian
Education:
Bachelors in Engineering and i got my GPA evaluated by WES and as per US standards its stands at 3.26
Extra curricular: Active member of Green peace India.

Post graduation
To work in NY .I don't want to move out

GMAT: 580 (And I don't think i will be retaking the exam :( )
TOEFL: 104 out of 120

Work exp: I have a professional IT ( with an MNC ) work experience of 3 years and also have done a summer Internship for almost 8 months with a production company.

Colleges:
My selections as per the college rankings.

Suny stony brook.
Fordham
Hofstra
PACE
NJIT

I am planning to apply for Spring 2012. I had a talk with Stony brook and they informed me to start the application as soon as possible. But again the problem is I am not sure how good is their MIS program.

For Fordham my score is way below their average score 600 so i dont know how is my chances of getting in.
Out of all the above listed colleges I could think of Fordham as the best as a college. But i am not sure of how good is MBA program for MIS in Fordham. I couldn't find much of details from their site. If somebody could help me with that I would be really grateful.

Thanks

Your application strategy should focus more on where you want to go and where you think you would fit best and get what you need vs. where you think you could get in. GMAT scores are only one part of the applicaiton, and you can overcome a lower GMAT with a killer story and passionate vision for what you want to achieve post MBA (with experience to back it up so it doesn't come across as just a
"pipe dream"). Focus on your story and your applications and perhaps Fordham will sit up and take notice. Let us know if you need help.

Hello

I am Chartered Accountant from India with Master of Computers and UG in accountancy, currently working as Senior Manager- Internal Auditor. total work ex is 8 years all in Internal Audit but now i feel bore & need to change. While doing introspection & thinking what i love i found that my interest lies some where in conjuncture of Technology+Finance+marketing. So i have shortlisted career either with PE/IB focused on tech or starting my own venture.

Now given the above facts i request you to please answer my following queries.
1. Which are top 5 schools for such career move
2. Can my willingness to move from internal audit to PE/IB effect my candidature adversely.

P.S.:- how can i avail your services in india.

Warm Regards
Pawan
