Hi,

Please evaluate my profile

Demographics:Indian/IT/Female
Age:23
gpa:8.81/10 from an Indian university, top 10 of my class
Xth:90.4%, top 10 of my school
XIIth:96%, 2nd in my school
gmat:720(q 49 v40) awa:4.5
WE:1 year in Asia's largest IT consultancy firm
- working in Oracle EBS, client is one of the largest corporations of US
- was identified as a key resource in the project
- primary point of contact for the clients for a particular module
- good ratings

EC:
- organized fests and cultural activities during school and college
- was class representative during college
- love photography

- love reading, so part of company's book club

Would it be worthwhile for me retake GMAT and try to increase my score(my practice test scores were above 750, but unfortunately, was sick during test day)?

What are my chances at Duke, Darden, Kelley, Yale, LBS, Oxford, Judge? What other schools can I look at?

Your GMAT is great, but you might want to take another year or two to gain some more work experience, unless you have very specific reasons why you want/need to do an MBA now. Remember that (in most cases) the average work experience is about 4 years, and most candidates have at least two.

From which Indian university did you graduate? This will help in assessing your profile.

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately the university isn't really a known one. It's a state private university in India.

I would advise you to put off your application until you've had some more work experience. If possible, a technical role outside of IT, like in sales engineering or product management, could also help you to gain more "managerial" type experience.

Last, take the time to work on your ECs. In these roles, always try to increase your responsibility beyond individual contributions to ones leading teams or organizing volunteers.

Good Luck!
