Submitting TOEFL scores

by joefreddy » Thu Apr 03, 2008 8:27 pm
Is it mandatory to give your TOEFL scores before you submit your application form.

Can we submit the application without TOEFL scores and provide the same just before being admitted.

Does B-School consider this and offer admission with condition that TOEFL scores needs to be submitted before the admission date.

Very few colleges actually ask for your TOEFL score. Most are willing to accept an application without a TOEFL score but will withhold a decision until you submit your TOEFL score.

Dear joefreddy:

In my experience as a former admissions director, official TOEFL scores were part of the application and your application was not complete until the official scores were received. This means you did not receive any sort of review or interview invitation, much less a conditional admission, without the official scores being at the school. Most schools that I am familiar with follow that policy, but I'm sure there are some schools that might move your application forward without your TOEFL score.

Regards,
Lisa
