Teaching English as work experience?

I am wanting to get into grad school but I currently have no actual work experience (in a company). I have been an English instructor to adults & business men in Seoul for 2 years, with another 2 years here as an exchange student. The MBA programs I would like to enter need at least 2-3years work experience, and I was wondering if teaching English would be considered as valid work experience.

or maybe I could change the title? English Training and Development Employee?

Dear wwallace1:

Schools are looking for candidates to have 2-3 years of professional work experience prior to applying to their programs. This means work experience on a professional level after you have received your bachelor's degree. So, if you taught English in Seoul after graduating from college, then you have met the 2-3 year experience requirement.

Lisa thank you for your response :)

My problem is finding a way I can show through essays or through my resume that teaching English is "professional work experience" and that I can contribute to their program or whatever their looking for...
I am having problems because my job has nothing to do with my career goals, moreover, its nowhere related to what other people have traditionally done ie. marketing/management/finance/IT/etc...

Dear wwallace1:

You need to think in terms of transferable skills, not titles and companies. As an instructor, you must have developed and strengthened your communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills. Likewise, think about what is involved to effectively manage your classroom--I bet there are problems you solve, creativity you employ, and lessons you plan. Try to think in these terms when writing about your experience, both on your resume and in your essays.
