Hi,

Please evaluate my profile

GMAT : 750
GPA 3.3 from a top 10 Government Engineering college in India

Experience : 3+ years in a big 4 firm. Consultant first with the Telecom sbu and now with the Strategy,Transformation & Operations unit.

Leadership Experience : For a previous project of duration 6 months : program managed 10 different teams carrying out complex and transformational Business Process Re-engineering efforts in a multinational telecom company at a location outside India

Also team leader for 2 other consulting assignments over the past 2 years


Extracarriculars : very little to show

Target schools : INSEAD,NYU Stern, Booth

Hoping for : Harvard,Stanford

Also trying : Haas,Rotman,Queens Canada

Age: 26

Indian

International Experience : Cumulative 1.5 yrs out of 3 in a location near but out of India

Please do suggest if these schools fit my profile or I should re-evaulate. Also if you could highlight how do I cover up my lack of extra-carriculars

Hello,

Based on the information you've provided, your list looks good for the most part. However, I'd suggest either changing or adding to your reach schools. In particular HBS will want not just extracurricular involvement but leadership in that area.

I don't think you can cover up lack of extracurriculars; it will be a weakness in your application. What you can do is to try to make the other aspects of your application so compelling that on balance the adcoms will still want to admit you. How you would do that would vary a bit application to application, as you target it to the particular program.

Indradeep,

It's hard to say without knowing your goals. Have you considered Cornell, Darden, MIT? Those all might be good to look into to see if they offer what you want. They're quite different and they vary in degree of competitiveness, but they're all schools with strong personalities and a great deal to offer.
